Advanced Exposure, AutoFocus, and Lens Selection – Photo 102

The second step in the beginner series. In this class we delve deeper into metering for manual exposure, as well as autofocus functions, and selecting the right lens for the scene. This class is designed to give students a solid foundation of exposure knowledge. When and how to use aperture and shutter priority modes, types of metering and white balance are covered, as well as support and accessories to help you continue shooting better photos every day.

This class covers:

* Shutter speed- freezing action, blurring moving subjects

* Aperture- Control depth of field, background blur (bokeh), landscape, image sharpness

* Lenses, perspective, and field of view

* Autofocus – how to better control focus speed and AF points

* The “Sunny 16” Rule

* Metering- modes in-camera, and using a handheld meter

FAQs

How do I know if this class is the right class for my level of interest and/or expertise?

This class is designed to be taken after Photo 101. If you are already comfortable with exposure settings, this class is a good way to review and take your knowledge a step further. If you are unsure of your knowledge level, start with Photo 101.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

You may request a refund up to one day before this class. For example, if your class is on a Saturday, you have until the Friday before to ask for a refund. Refunds and/or class credit transfers will not be issued to customers who sign up for a class but fail to attend. Eventbrite’s service fee is non-refundable.
