You don’t have to travel far to capture beautiful bird photos; this class will guide you in making the most of your local opportunities. \nThis course is geared toward the beginning bird photographer. \nThe class will cover: \n– Potential settings \n– Finding good backgrounds \n– Determining shooting angles taking into account lighting and composition \n– Waiting for the right moment \n– How to find locations \n– Tips for success \n– Hints for Magee Marsh and the surrounding area \nKathryn will provide specific examples from images she has taken in the past on how to increase your number of keepers. \nAbout the Instructor: Kathryn Cubert has been photographing birds at every opportunity for over seven years. She was a Hog Island Audubon bird photography instructor in Maine in 2022 and is looking forward to being an instructor once again in the summer of 2023. Kathryn has exhibited her imagery at the McConnell Arts Center\, the Ohio State Fair Fine Art Exhibit and the Riffe Gallery. Much of her work over the past several years has been as a photography contributor to two local conservation organizations to increase interest and help them reach conservation-oriented supporters. She will be a judge for the Ohio State Photographic Society’s upcoming annual competition this month. \nHer photos have been published by Audubon.org\, Bird Watchers Digest\, Columbus Monthly\, the Arc of Appalachia and Appalachia Ohio Alliance. DESCRIPTION:Westbridge Camera Club is central Ohio's oldest and largest photography club!\n\n\nWestbridge Camera Club is central Ohio's oldest and largest photography club.  Westbridge meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month and are open to all. The first monthly meeting is program night and will typically consist of an educational presentation on a chosen topic. The second monthly meeting is competition night. You do not need to be a member to attend any meeting; however\, you must be a member enter competitions or participate in critique sessions. Months that contain a fifth Monday will be a 'Digital Critique Night'\, for members choosing to have images critiqued. Please join us to connect\, learn\, and share all things photography.  Most importantly\, learning and growing by interacting with fellow photographers is one of the greatest perks of attending and becoming a member.\n \nPlease join us on the 1st and 3rd Monday from September through May at Midwest Photo on Silver Drive.  Meetings begin with social time at 6:30 p.m. followed by the evening program from 7:00 to 9:00.

Learn his approach to travel photography\, covering events and festivals and how to interact and get close to local people. Leonardo will give you tips on shooting photo packages and creating a visual narrative with your photos. Based in Columbus\, Ohio\, Leonardo teaches multimedia journalism\, photojournalism\, user experience design\, and visual communication design at The Ohio State University. \nIn the summers\, he serves as a Naturalist and Certified Photo Instructor with National Geographic Lindblad Expeditions\, combining his passion for photography with global exploration and education. \nLeonardo holds dual master’s degrees in Visual Communication/Photojournalism from Ohio University and Spanish Literature and Culture from The Ohio State University\, along with a bachelor’s in International Studies and Spanish Literature.
