If you have a new camera or just want to get out of auto mode this is where to begin! Learning photography can be confusing if you don't know where to start. Photo 101 introduces students to the exposure basics, camera functions, and terminology of photography. This class is designed to be hands on, so bring your camera and notepad!

What are the Exposure Settings?
How to use ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture
Camera modes- How to use Semi-Auto modes and Manual!
What is White balance?
The built-in Light Meter and how to use it
Focal length and lens terminolgy
Tips on capturing your creative vision. and more!
How do I know if this class is the right class for my level of interest and/or expertise?
This is a class designed for the beginner. We break down the terminology and techniques of photography to enable photographers to fulfill their creative vision. That means that this class is also great for slightly more experienced shooters that would like to brush up on the basics of exposure, i.e; aperture, shutter speed, etc.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Bring your camera and lenses to this class, as we will be showing everyone how to use their equipment during different sections of the class! Bring a notepad to take notes, also!
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
You may request a refund up to one day before this class. For example, if your class is on a Saturday, you have until the Friday before to ask for a refund. Refunds and/or class credit transfers will not be issued to customers who sign up for a class but fail to attend. Eventbrite's service fee is non-refundable.
What time to arrive/leave for class?
The Midwest Photo Learning Studio is a very busy space booked for events and classes year-round! The studio will open 30 minutes prior to scheduled class time start and close 30 minutes after scheduled class time end.
